There is something so perfect about grilling in the summer. Chicken is one of our favorite things to grill – it’s simple, fast and healthy. But sometimes we get in a rut about how to prepare it – we don’t want to eat the same thing every week! Luckily we’ve added this flavorful grilled chicken recipe to our repertoire. It’s really spiced up our grilling menu!

Garlic Herb Grilled Chicken
Cindy has a tendency to find a recipe, then change all the ingredients in the recipe just to keep from needing to go to the grocery store. That’s what happened with this recipe…..and we LOVED the outcome. We have had a request for this twice in one week – it’s that good! Looking at the ingredients list, you shouldn’t need to go to the grocery store to make this tonight. So if you’re feeling lazy, you’re in luck!


Nothin’ like a picture of some raw chicken breasts.


Mix the ingredients in a glass bowl or measuring cup.


Mix well and pour over chicken


Marinate for 20 – 25 minutes


Then grill to deliciousness. Look at that perfectly seared crust!


This is the perfect chicken for summer.

Here’s the recipe
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup garlic olive oil
1/4  cup white sugar
1/2 tablespoon honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tablespoon italian seasoning
1 teaspoon seasoned salt

Place chicken in a shallow dish. In a medium bowl, mix together the olive oil, sugar, honey, garlic, italian seasoning and salt. Pour the mixture over the chicken. Cover, and marinate 20 to 25 minutes in the refrigerator.

Preheat the grill for medium heat.

Lightly oil the grill grate. Discard marinade, and place chicken on the grill. Cook for 10 minutes on each side, or until exterior is charred and juices run clear. NOTE: KEEP AN EYE ON THE MEAT WHILE GRILLING. THE HONEY AND SUGAR IN THE RECIPE CAN CAUSE THE MEAT TO BURN EASILY.
